MMap is a GTK2 application designed for viewing maps.
MMap not only supports the above-mentioned maps but also provides the ability to work with Watchizu, Blue Marble, Land Sat 7, and SRTM maps with ease. However, there is a warning about the huge size of map data that MMap+ stores in ~/.mmap/.
As for its requirements, Gtk+2, Gtk+2-devel, GtkGLExt, GtkGLExt-devel, libcurl, libcurl-devel, p7zip, and LHA are mandatory to run this software. If you are looking to install MMap, it is a simple process of performing the command lines tar zxvf mmap-***.tar.gz ./configure make make install (root).
With the updated version of MMap, a notable addition is the inclusion of a new layer for Japanese numerical maps. If you are looking for a GTK2 map viewer with multiple features, MMap could be your go-to.
