Momoko is a development environment that allows multiple users to collaborate on projects together.
One of the standout features of Momoko is its ability to organize objects into tree-based hierarchies. Additionally, its orthogonal persistence, transparent distributed objects system, and remote access to source code and user files via WebDAV make it even more powerful. Also, the telnet-enabled shell is a great tool for manipulating the object database remotely.
Momoko also does an excellent job of importing various information from the internet into a distributed, object-oriented, virtual filesystem. From there, you can export the information in several different ways, depending on your needs. What's more, Momoko currently ships with modules to import IRC channels and MH-style mail archives, allowing you to chat and check your email all within Momoko.
If that wasn't enough, Momoko also comes with a MOO-like command set for interacting with the object tree, as well as a fully functioning web forum for reading your mail archives and posting replies. All these features make Momoko feel like a MOO, a web application server, a threaded discussion forum, and an IRC client all in one package. And that's just scratching the surface of what it can do.
In summary, if you need a tool for building multi-user internet applications, then Momoko project is definitely worth considering. Although its currently shipping features are impressive, they're just the tip of the iceberg of what can be created using this versatile and powerful tool.
