Mounty provides a straightforward way to mount disk images through a user-friendly software interface. With its simple design, users can easily manage and access their virtual drives effortlessly.
What sets Mounty apart is its GUI-less design, which means that it won't show up in the dock, and nothing happens when you double-click its icon. Instead, all you have to do is drag the disk image onto the application icon, and Mounty will automatically mount it.
If you prefer to open disk images from the Finder's "Open with…" contextual menu, you can easily do that as well. You can also set Mounty as your default application for opening disk images by using any disk image's info panel. In this case, double-clicking an image will cause Mounty to open the image.
In addition to mounting disk images, Mounty can also extract GZip archives. The latest release includes fixes for localization bugs, an optional progress indicator, auto-mounting of images, and preferences. Overall, Mounty is a straightforward and efficient application that gets the job done quickly and easily.
