The MouseFeed Eclipse Plugin aims to improve the efficiency of users of the Eclipse platform through a series of shortcuts and automated actions. Its purpose is to make using the software faster and more streamlined.
One of the key features of MouseFeed is its ability to significantly reduce dependence on the mouse. This is because operating the user interface (UI) with a keyboard is much faster than using a mouse. MouseFeed helps users develop a habit of using keyboard shortcuts by showing a popup reminder whenever a button or menu item is clicked upon.
For example, when the user clicks on the Search toolbar button, MouseFeed displays a popup showing the keyboard shortcut that corresponds to that action. It's also possible to configure MouseFeed to prevent actions from running unless they are executed using a keyboard shortcut, thereby reinforcing the habit of using shortcuts.
MouseFeed requires Eclipse and the Java Runtime Environment to be installed on the user's computer. This is a beneficial tool for any Eclipse user who wishes to maximise their productivity by significantly reducing their reliance on the mouse.
This is the first production release, and users can anticipate regular updates to the software in future.
