Mozilla2ps is an efficient tool that swiftly transforms HTML to PostScript pages autonomously, using basic coding techniques.
As a user of this software, I was not really satisfied with the existing HTML2ps conversion tool. Hence, I decided to explore other alternatives and stumbled upon Mozilla2ps. The software makes use of Xul Runner, which is a reliable tool for running XUL-based applications.
Before getting started with Mozilla2ps, it is important to ensure that Xulrunner is correctly installed on your device. Once that is done, you can run the following commands to start the conversion process:
- xulrunner --install-app mozilla2ps-0.1.xulapp
- xulrunner --app application.ini /tmp/foo.ps
- xulrunner --app application.ini /tmp/lwn.ps
- ps2pdf /tmp/lwn.ps
- evince lwn.pdf
I prefer to use the Mozilla2ps software along with a chmtopdf.py script to convert .chm files to PDF format using only free tools. However, there are some bugs in the system that need to be addressed, such as the inability to configure paper size and margins. Additionally, the setTimeOut workaround needs to be removed.
Overall, the latest release of Mozilla2ps comes with a host of new options to format printing. You can now choose between landscape and portrait orientation, edit margins, and even change the background color or image.
