Kid-friendly mp3 player software for audio playback.
The application works by allowing the user to add music to the playlist by clicking on the song title. Then, the user can click on the playlist to choose the song they want to play. The component at the top of the page shows the status of the current track. To control playback, the user can switch to the now playing section, where they can also see details and images.
The audio content of the software is totally appropriate for young children, consisting of kids nursery rhymes, songs, and stories downloaded from LibriVox. This website is a public domain audio sub-collection of the Internet Archive, where volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain and release them for free.
It should be noted that the application does not have the ability to dynamically access additional content.
The application is based on an Adobe example/tutorial, with an XML data file created in Dreamweaver CS3 and a UI created in Flash CS3. It is packaged in Flash CS3, and all necessary files needed to build the application are included in the installation folder, along with a readme doc with application details.
Adobe AIR runtime is used to deploy the application on computers and devices running the Linux operating system, and Adobe Flex Builder for Linux can be used to build rich internet applications that deploy to the desktop and run across operating systems using proven web technologies.
