This software offers features for analyzing MP3 files, capturing data, and hiding data within files.
To build the software, simply run the "./configure" and "make" commands from the top-level directory of mp3nema. If you want to enable debugging mode, you can do so by using the "--enable-debug" option when configuring.
There is no need to install the software, as the resulting binary can be placed anywhere. The software has four main uses: analyzing files, capturing streaming audio, extracting out of band data, and inserting data between frames.
When inserting data between frames, the destination can be a single MP3 file or a directory of MP3 files. For larger files, it is recommended that the data is spanned across multiple MP3s. The resulting files will be numbered in the order they need to be extracted.
To ensure that the data is not mistaken for audio data, it is recommended to use an ASCII-based encoding. The software's help menu provides clear instructions on how to operate the software in each mode.
The resulting files are automatically named based on the source MP3 file or stream that is being analyzed. If there are any duplicate file names, a sequential number is added to the end of the file name before the extension. Overall, MP3nema is a powerful tool for anyone looking to analyze, capture, or extract hidden data from MP3 files or streams.
