Multican is a remote control tool for Canon EOS cameras that allows users to operate the device from their computer. It helps users take photos and manage camera settings more efficiently.
It is important to note that the timing in the script highly depends on the camera type and CF card used to do shooting. This is something that the Multican user needs to test themselves. If the timing in the script is too short, the communication may hang, and some commands may skip. However, thanks to camera image caching, the shooting rate could be set under 1s if only several images are taken. Most of the EOS camera models contain an image cache where the images are stored into a queue and written to the Compact flash card later.
One known bug in the latest Multican release is that the cameras need to be switched off and on again when a scripted sequence is finished, and a new one needs to be done. This is likely caused by the fact that the communication is not correctly terminated in the current Multican release.
In the latest Multican release, there have been some updates and fixes, such as fixing typos, updating documentation, and fixing warnings. Overall, Multican is an excellent software for controlling various Canon EOS cameras remotely.
