MyBashBurn is a Linux CD burning shell script that is a version/fork of BashBurn.
The software can be used to burn data CDs, music CDs, multisession CDs, and create ISO files. It also supports burning bin/cue files, and creating mp3s, oggs, and flac files. Additionally, it has the ability to burn DVD-images and data DVDs, among other options.
MyBashBurn is dependent on cdrecord and other backend applications to function. As long as your writing device works with it, MyBashBurn will work flawlessly. The software makes use of advanced and extensive regular expressions to control the capabilities of the backend applications to burn and create audio files.
The project started as a branch of BashBurn, with the first code fix being sent in 2004. More bug fixes and proposed enhancements were made later on. MyBashBurn was officially started in November 2006 from BashBurn SVN 1.8.0.20051110.
The latest release fixed compatibility bugs with RHEL and CentOS Enterprise Linux, and also fixed a bug in the define burn data menu when navigating names with blank spaces. Additionally, the code was cleaned up, and the Makefile, man, and INSTALL files were updated. Overall, MyBashBurn is a reliable and user-friendly software that offers a great alternative to the classic BashBurn.
