myHella software is a user interface that operates via GTK and is designed to work alongside hellaNZB, a tool created for downloading content from usenet databases.
One of the major new features in myHella 2 is the watch directory, which scans your home folder for new NZBs by default. Users can set which folder to scan and whether subdirectories should be scanned (recursive option) in the general settings-pane. In addition, myHella 2 employs panes instead of different windows for the settings, which includes panes for the stats, the queue, and the general settings, with a pane/tab for the server settings to be added in the future.
In myHella 2, several stability functions are built-in, allowing users to adjust the update interval to conserve resources on older computers, thus ensuring smoother operation. Furthermore, myHella 2 no longer automatically starts hellaNZB, the myHella download back-end, with the software. Instead, users must choose to connect after starting myHella 2. The tray function has also been enhanced, enabling users to manage downloads using both the window and tray.
While some features have changed significantly, others have simply been modified. For example, on the stats pane, a slider has been added to adjust the maximum download rate more easily. The stats are now divided into two sections, with the first section displaying essential stats such as what's downloading, how much has been downloaded, how much time is left, and what is being processed. The second section, which can be hidden, provides additional details such as the download rate, queue-size, and how much has already been downloaded. Overall, myHella is a valuable software download tool that provides numerous helpful features for Usenet users.
