mysqlWisp is a software project that offers a subsystem controlled by mysqlISP or as a standalone solution.
With mysqlWisp, one can create and manage hundreds of hotspots with full iptables/MAC+IP+Login+Passwd controlled access. The software is designed to support wide open WAPs for easy connection, and the gateway linux server running mysqlWisp often provides dhcpd, named, and two instances of apache2 for webmin and login page. After logging in, a hotspot user has access to the WAP/Gateway, thanks to advanced iptables SNAT, DNAT, and REDIRECT rules managed by mysqlWisp.
The recent version of mysqlWisp introduces several new features, which include adding mysqlISP external job queue handling and more WISP AAA/NOC support based on Chicago installation. Additionally, mysqlWisp utilizes tUser.cProfile for cMAC and cIP if exists (fixed users). There is an add cProfile dictionary to tConfiguration to check new user addition and accounting, and QoS control is also included. Moreover, mysqlWisp provides online credit card processing support through mysqlCart.
In summary, mysqlWisp is an incredible hotspot management software that provides both a standalone and mysqlISP controlled subsystem for the easy management of one or hundreds of hotspots. The software offers many features tailored to provide a seamless user experience with advanced access control and accounting for all hotspot users.
