NanobloggerComments is a comment system that uses PHP/MySQL and is designed for use with Nanoblogger.
Once this has been set up, users must modify their blog.conf file to include new variables for BLOG_ADMIN and DB_PASS, which will be used by the install script to install NanobloggerComments. It is important to note that if any changes are made to the database name or user, the consts.php file should be edited to reflect these changes after running the install script.
As part of the installation process, users must also remove any HTML comments from the entry.htm and permalink_entry.htm templates, and modify the URL in these templates to include the correct href and script tags. Additionally, users must add a script directive to other templates like category_archive.htm, main_index.htm, makepage.htm, month_archive.htm, and permalink.htm.
Once the necessary modifications have been made, the script can be installed in the user's blog directory by running the ./install command. The script will generate all headers and other required data to ensure that the comment system works correctly, after which the user can update their blog by running the nb -u all and nb -P commands.
NanobloggerComments requires PHP 4.3.11 and MySQL 4.1.11, as well as Nanoblogger 3.2.3 (when upgrading from 3.1). The latest release of NanobloggerComments allows users to comment on articles, not just regular blog entries.
