Neohunt is a classic multiplayer shooting game that allows players to battle it out against each other in a sci-fi themed environment.
This game is an enhanced version of hunt, one of the user-contributed games from the 4BSD distribution. Some older versions of the game may still be found around here and there. The original neohunt (not to be confused with the original hunt) was developed on a VAX 11/785 running 4.3BSD in 1989.
The version you see here is a slightly ANSIfied version of the K&R source, hacked up just enough to run under FreeBSD 4.2. Despite its age, it serves as a fine example of what a lot of software packages looked like in the 1980s. However, this game is not to be taken seriously and it is currently considered abandonware.
Overall, Neohunt is an entertaining blast-from-the-past game that is sure to bring back fond memories for those who played it back in the day. If you're looking for a casual shoot-em-up game to play with friends, Neohunt is definitely worth a shot.
