NodeMedia is a software that offers powerful editing tools for VRScripts and vrscript tracks. It enables users to create immersive virtual reality experiences with ease.
With NodeMedia, users can also engage in complex scripting of navigation to any QTVR movies. This software is incredibly comprehensive, as almost every call quicktime offers for qtvr is available through NodeMedia. Once a presentation is complete, users have the option to save it as a text script (fastest playback in the tiny vrscript player), a standalone 'projector' (the handiest file), or as a quicktime movie with vrscript track that requires the user to have the vrscript extension installed, but can play on the web and anywhere else a qt movie will play.
NodeMedia puts a graphic interface on VRScript, a scripting language developed by Tim Monroe at Apple. To learn more about this scripting language and see many demos made with these tools, click here. As one of the first 3D photographic film making tools, NodeMedia is more than capable of creating exciting new mediums. Users can even join the mailing list to contribute their ideas and issues to improve the software.
However, it's important to note that this app doesn't work on OS X since it uses qd3d. The requirements for this software only include QuickTime 4 or later. Additionally, the current version has a password that users need to input to enable the saving of scripts and vrscript tracks. Nonetheless, NodeMedia is still fun to play with in demo mode.
