Nuxsl is a software tool designed to log Unix shell commands over a network for security and auditing purposes. It efficiently captures user and system activity in real-time for logging, reporting, and analysis.
With Nuxsl, you can install a client on every audited server, allowing them to communicate with the central Nuxsl master process. For best results, the master process should be placed on a dedicated MySQL database server (Oracle is currently under development). This configuration provides fast, reliable performance, even when auditing a large number of servers.
The user interface is clean and easy to use, with a graphical frontend that runs smoothly on Linux. The software uses binary access to the database, which improves speed and efficiency. Supported platforms include Intel Linux 2.4, Sparc Solaris 8, Intel Solaris 2.6, Intel FreeBSD 4.5, DEC Tru64 5.1, IBM Aix 4.3, and HP-UX 11.0. Additionally, there are ports available for IBM s390 Linux.
Nuxsl is fully customizable, allowing you to tailor the software to your specific needs. And with ongoing development and new versions constantly under production - including versions for SGI Irix - you can be sure that you're using state-of-the-art tools for shell account auditing. Overall, Nuxsl is a powerful and versatile solution for centralizing user shell account auditing across multiple servers and environments.
