A software that provides a tax form entry calculation service free of charge.
The project acknowledges the importance of updating the tax calculation software annually. Currently, OpenTaxSolver has been updated for the 2005 tax-year for the US 1040 and Schedules A, B, C, & D forms, as well as the state taxes of California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania State taxes. The project thanks its contributors for their invaluable support.
More updates are on the way, as OpenTaxSolver aims to keep its service current and relevant. The project anticipates that preliminary versions for Canada and the United Kingdom will be updated with the help of volunteers. The software community makes up the backbone of this program, which relies on the contributions of volunteers to thrive.
OpenTaxSolver was developed with some important goals in mind. The first goal was to make tax preparation software available to all platforms, regardless of operating systems. It also aims to provide clear and unambiguous equations/code to aid in the understanding of tax calculation. Furthermore, OpenTaxSolver assures taxpayers that they will not need to settle for invasive, bloated commercial software packages.
Finally, OpenTaxSolver aims to provide a simple, reliable, and easy-to-use tax package that requires only rudimentary knowledge to maintain. It does so through the efforts of its committed community of developers and volunteers, who put their time and expertise into building it. OpenTaxSolver is indeed an excellent software package for anyone looking to enhance their tax preparation experience.
