The software offers a web application environment that eliminates the need for page reloads, enabling seamless user interaction with the application.
With OpenThought, you can display data received automatically on the existing page, access JavaScript functions and variables, and load new pages. This environment also manages your session data automatically, giving your application a full-blown application's look and feel rather than that of an ordinary webpage.
OpenThought is extended with OpenPlugin, a feature briefly described in this documentation. This environment works by communicating with the server through the use of a hidden frame. Although some may argue that using frames is obsolete, the frame used in OpenThought is entirely hidden, making it difficult for users to notice it.
The hidden frame in OpenThought performs all communication with the server and enables your browser to interact with it without reloading the visible content in your web browser. This feature facilitates the server's ability to run JavaScript code in the browser, and OpenThought can update parts of the screen automatically without reloading the page.
For every OpenThought application that loads, a unique session ID generates for that user. The environment ensures that the session ID accompanies every request made by the browser to the server. This ensures that you don't need to do anything to make it work correctly, and you can easily retrieve the session ID along with other data sent by the browser while programming your application.
Apart from updating parts of the screen, OpenThought also allows you to load new pages within the content frame while maintaining your session. This feature enables you to tie various web pages together and create web applications that behave like "real" applications.
Without needing to reload the page ever, OpenThought offers your application a distinct look and feel. This eliminates the need to create a separate web interface to interact with the backend, allowing you to create just one interface for both LAN and web use.
