Orbitclock is a desktop clock that displays time in a pseudo-Star-Trek style.
However, some of the parameters in the code may need tweaking to make the clock look good at other sizes. This can be adjusted easily by playing with the parameters at the top of "draw()" and the colors. It's amazing how much customization can be done with this user-friendly software!
The "orbitclock" program comes with several usage options, including the ability to set window geometry, background color, and foreground (tick) color. Users can also reorder the rings of the clock display (hms|smh|etc.) from inside out. Additionally, the software can be adjusted to use specific fonts for the date display, which implies the use of the -date function.
The -date function is particularly noteworthy, as it draws the date in the center of the clock display in a format determined by the user. The strftime format string literal 'n' can be used to create a line break if desired. For instance, -date="%m/%d/%Yn%H:%M:%S" would draw the date on one line and the time on the next.
Overall, Orbitclock is a powerful and versatile clock display software with a unique sci-fi aesthetic. The ability to resize and customize the display, along with its useful features, make it a must-have app for users seeking an intriguing and functional desktop clock.
