OutGuess is a software tool that can add concealed data to the duplicate bits of different data sources. It is a versatile tool that can be used for this purpose in a wide range of applications.
Currently, OutGuess supports PNM and JPEG image formats. While we'll be using images as examples, it's important to note that this tool can be applied to any type of data as long as the appropriate handler is provided.
When it comes to JPEG images, OutGuess is able to preserve statistics that are based on frequency counts. This makes it impossible for statistical tests based on frequency counts to detect the presence of steganographic content. Additionally, the program is able to determine the maximum message size that can be hidden while still maintaining these frequency counts.
The latest release of OutGuess has introduced some new features, including using statistical corrections to defend against steganalysis. The update also includes a lot of cleanup, and now uses all DCT coefficients for JPG formatting. It's important to note that this version is not compatible with the previous versions.
All in all, OutGuess is a powerful tool for adding hidden information into data sources. With a few tweaks and corrections, it can be customized to work with a variety of file types, making it a useful addition to your software toolkit.
