The P11SCD software is designed to replace the existing smart-card daemon.
To install P11SCD project, first ensure that PKCS#11 headers are installed in the standard compiler search path. These can be obtained from RSA's site or a similar source. Then, check for available PKCS#11 drivers compatible with your smart-card (e.g. MUSCLE project drivers for Cryptoflex and Cyberflex with MUSCLE applet).
Once the drivers are in place, apply the patch to the unpacked GPG distribution by navigating to the gnupg-1.4 directory (name dependent on version) and running: `patch -p1 < gpg-p11.patch.` From there, execute the configure script, edit the generated config.h file to uncomment `#define HAVE_PKCS11`, and compile and install the source as usual.
Overall, the P11SCD project provides a useful, if somewhat incomplete, replacement for the existing scd daemon, particularly for users needing full PKCS#11 token support.
