Particula Numerica, also known as Particula, is a software that simulates the behavior of gravitational N-body systems. It allows users to create and observe the interactions of particles under the influence of gravity.
Particula is capable of simulating the gravitational interactions of many bodies with specific initial conditions. You can set up a simple homo-temperature spherical distribution model as an initial condition. The software allows you to adjust the temperature and the number of particles. Additionally, you can use NEMO ASCII files as an initial data source.
Particula provides users with both two and three-dimensional viewing options, allowing for an overall 3D view of the particles. In the 2D view, you can track the trajectory of a particular particle and monitor the temporal variation of potential energies, in the form of kinetic (red) and potential (blue) energies. To update the 2D view, you should click the mouse with the Ctrl key or right mouse button.
Lastly, the 3D view can be changed by dragging to rotate and shift-dragging to zoom in or out, providing users an interactive and dynamic view of the simulation. Overall, Particula is an exceptional software capable of producing stunning and accurate simulations of gravitationally interacting celestial bodies.
