PCNC is a software suitable for numerical control of 3-axis through a parallel port. It is intended for use with Wabeco-Plus CNC Machines.
The installation process is quite straightforward. First, you need to navigate to the directory containing the package's source code and run the command "./configure" to configure it for your system. If you're running "csh" on an older version of System V, you may need to execute "sh ./configure" instead, which prevents "csh" from trying to execute "configure" itself.
While running the setup process, the program displays messages indicating the various features it is checking for. After completing the configuration process, run the command "make" to compile the package, followed by "make install" to install the programs as well as any data files and documentation.
If necessary, you can clean up the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by using the command "make clean."
The latest version of PCNC, version 1.2.0, includes a major new feature. A history has been implemented for all real number inputs, which is sure to be quite useful. In addition, the Konturprogramm feature is currently under development and represents a significant undertaking.
Finally, a new button called TEXT is being developed for placement on the left side of the PCNC interface. While work on the TEXT button is still ongoing, it will be completed and made available after the Konturprogramm feature is finalized.
