Pftpd is a software that offers a multithreaded anonymous FTP server.
Using multithreading, pftpd is both lightweight and fast. It also supports the sendfile() function on compatible systems to further improve performance and reduce system impact.
Other key features of pftpd include a built-in "ls", user-specific anonymous directories, and support for active and passive transfers. Additionally, it supports restartable transfers in both binary and ASCII modes.
By default, pftpd allows only READ access to files, with commands that create or modify files disabled. However, an option is available to enable READ/WRITE mode.
To start using pftpd, all you need is an ANSI C compiler. And with the latest release, a directory listing crash on Solaris 10 has been fixed.
