PHP music player controller is a software script that simplifies music directory navigation. Users can easily move around their music files and directories with this software.
To use PMPC, you will need Apache to run as the same user as your music player. This means that it is recommended to run PMPC on a machine that is not visible to the web or has restrictive user settings for added security. If you choose to run PMPC out of a user's home directory, ensure that you serve the pages from that same home directory to optimize functionality.
If you have experience with Apache configurations and know of a better way to get PMPC to work, please share your feedback with the development team. Changing the session.save_path variable in your php.ini or chmod-ing the directory it is using may be required if Apache is running as yourself.
This recent release of PMPC includes significant improvements to the player interface, more support for music players, and improved performance when directories with hyphens in their names are playing.
If you have previously used amarok or xmms and would like to see these players supported in PMPC, let the PMPC team know. They will endeavor to add support for them in the next release.
