This software enables online publication and web-based editing of bibliographies.
To get started, you need to create a database named bibliography. However, you can choose any name of your choice provided you update the config.php file accordingly. You can also assign a user and password to the created database if you wish to.
Once you have created the database, you need to upload the bibliography.sql file (found in the zip file) to create the table structures. You can do this through mysql command or use a mysql management system such as phpMyAdmin. Note that PhpBibliography relies on InnoDB tables for the database, but it should work with standard MySql table types as well.
Next, you need to edit the config.php file in the html directory according to your configuration. This includes the MySql server address, user owner of the database, database name, public URL of your phpbibliography site, and the directory where the papers will be stored.
Finally, copy all the content of the html directory (including the subdirectories) to the desired directory in your web server. Ensure that the subdirectory files is writable from the web server user, as it will store the papers uploaded via phpbibliography.
If everything has been set up correctly, you should be able to access your bibliography site with a browser. Overall, PhpBibliography is a lightweight software that helps publishers manage their bibliographic sources with ease.
