PlayOnLinux uses Wine and a bash script to enable the installation of Windows applications and games on Linux.
One of the significant advantages of PlayOnLinux is that it helps users who are passionate about certain Windows games and other applications to move to Linux without abandoning their preferred applications. Before the creation of this script, users had to put up with the cumbersome and complicated process that Wine sometimes demands. The result was that many people would not switch to Linux as they did not want to lose their favourite games.
PlayOnLinux has a game list, and if your favourite game features on it, you can be confident it will be fully compatible with the Linux operating system. However, if your game is not listed, you must confirm if it will run correctly with Wine. You can check Wine's website to confirm this. If it does, the script's Liveinstall option will come in handy. If it does not run on Wine, you may have to wait until there is an appropriate solution before attempting to install it.
