Podsize Widget checks video size and format to ensure that it is compatible with iPods.
At the front of the Podsize widget, you can enter the dimensions of your video into the appropriate boxes, and then select a constraint such as 4:3 or 16:9. Once you have done this, the widget will tell you whether or not your video is compatible with your iPod. You can also adjust the dimensions of your video by using the controls at the bottom of the widget.
On the back of the widget, you have the option to switch between H.264 and MPEG-4 video, and to customize Podsize settings to match your specific iPod model.
There are a number of new features in the latest Podsize release. The maximum dimensions for iPod have been increased for both 5th and 6th generation iPods in line with the increase in video capability with firmware 1.2. H.264 is now the default encoding option, and the bump buttons have been restyled. There is now an update function included to ensure that your Podsize widget is current, and the input boxes on Podsize have been increased to make them easier to read. Finally, the widget file size has been reduced from 372kb to 172kb.
Overall, Podsize is a valuable tool for ensuring that your videos are compatible with your iPod and can be enjoyed wherever you go.
