Polar Zip Light is a free ActiveX control that adds compression functionality to Windows applications. It can add, extract, delete, and list files in archives.
Polar Zip Light supports PKZIP 2.04g file format and can perform adding, extracting, deleting, and listing files in archives. With Polar Zip Light, you can create and delete zip files, compress and decompress entire directories or lists of directories, and specify the directory where files will be decompressed. Additionally, Polar Zip Light supports the use of wildcards to specify which files to process, allows you to set compression levels, and gives you full control over zip comments.
Once you begin using Polar Zip Light, you'll appreciate its flexibility and additional features. You can work on temporary copies of zip files for maximum safety, receive notifications whenever a file is zipped, unzipped, updated, deleted, etc., and, if desired, abort all operations. The software provides the status of the progress by file and globally with data shown as percentages, bytes, and file counts. The progress bars can be updated directly with this information. Furthermore, you have the option of selectively processing files based on their modified date.
