This software is a PAM module that enables challenge/response based authentication using OpenPGP smartcards.
The local-database authentication method maps user accounts to smartcards through a database that is locally administered. On the other hand, the X509 authentication method uses the PKI infrastructure offered by Dirmngr to authenticate certificates. OpenPGP smartcards are linked with X509 certificates using the smartcard's "url" field. The authentication process uses the user account name that is extracted from the certificate.
As Poldi is a PAM module, speaking of Poldi screenshots may be a little misleading. Instead, the software provides screenshots of PAM-enabled applications that are configured to use Poldi, and they can be found in the screenshots section.
Installation instructions for Poldi are provided in the software's manual, which is included in the Poldi source code package.
