A portable newsreader software that supports RSS and Atom feeds, suitable for use on a portable drive.
Installing Portable Feed is as easy as dragging the "Portable Feed" folder to your chosen portable device. Once done, simply click on the app to launch Feed from your portable device. Be patient as it may take a while to start. If a local copy of Feed is already running, an alert window will pop up and allow you to quit it.
If you want to use your favorite newsfeeds that are already on your system, you can easily copy your user preferences to Portable Feed when prompted. The Feed application and preference file are both inside the bundle: Portable Feed.app/Contents/Resources/app/. It's also worth noting that Feed is packaged using the Platypus script wrapper.
In terms of support, you can post your questions, tips, suggestions, clues, helps, and bugs to the OS X Portable Applications support forum. As for what's new in this release, it's the first public release of Portable Feed, which is 100% standalone. Preferences are also automatically copied if desired, and Portable Feed will ask to quit Feed if a copy is already running.
Overall, Portable Feed is a great solution for those who want a portable newsreader that they can take with them anywhere. It's easy to install and use, so if you're in the market for a portable RSS and Atom newsreader, give this app a try.
