Power20 is a software emulator that allows users to experience the Commodore VIC-20 on their personal computers. It enables users to run VIC-20 programs and access its software library with ease.
With Power20, you get MOS 6502 CPU Emulation including Illegal Opcodes, VIC (Video/Sound IC) Emulation that is Scanline-Based and complete with all Video Modes and Sound Emulation, and VIA Emulation (Timers, Interrupts). You have the option of Original VIC-20 Keyboard Layout or Macintosh Keyboard Layout.
Additional features include Joystick emulation via real ADB Joystick and Keyboard mapping, Paddles and Lightpen emulation, CPU Level 1541 Floppy Disk Emulation which can handle most Fast-loaders and Special Floppy Tricks, and ROM Level 1541 Disk Drive emulation. You get fast and easy disk access with *.D64, *.X64, ZipCode files support, and direct access to Macintosh File System with both *.C64 and *.P00 files supported.
Power20 also comes with a Tape Drive (Datasette) emulation, and *.T64 and Lynx files can be used on Disk Drives with TapeDisk. You can expand ZIP, GZ, and LHA compressed Disk or Tape images automatically, without having to expand compressed images from CD-ROM to Harddisk. You can also write GZ files, saving precious space on your Mac HD.
There is also Printer Emulation (Text Only) that adds to the utility of Power20. The only limitation of Power20 is that every session lasts for just 10 minutes. So, if you want to relive some good old Commodore VIC-20 memories, Power20 is the emulator for you to consider.
