ppplag offers a tool for analyzing PPP logs.
Dial-up is an option that doesn't require any additional infrastructure on top of the telephone network, making it available to travelers worldwide. It remains the only option for many people in rural or remote areas where broadband simply isn't an option due to low demand.
Although dial-up may seem like a dated technology, it can still be a cost-effective alternative for those with limited budgets. While some providers offer it for free, broadband is becoming increasingly affordable in many countries.
One thing to keep in mind with dial-up is that establishing a telephone connection and performing handshaking can take some time (often several seconds, depending on your location). And in locales where there are telephone connection charges, each connection incurs an incremental cost. If your calls are time-charged, then of course the duration of the connection will also incur costs.
In this latest release of ppplag, two exciting new features have been added: summary by day and the ability to filter by the user who started pppd. So if you're looking for a powerful and flexible PPP log analyzer, be sure to check out ppplag!
