The pslj shell-script can quickly and easily print Postscript files to a LaserJet 5L printer.
Here is an example /etc/printcap entry that assumes the script is installed in /usr/local/bin with mode 755:
ps|HP LaserJet 5L as PostScript:
:lp=/dev/lp1:
:sd=/var/spool/lp1:
:mx#0:
:if=/usr/local/bin/pslj:sh
It's important to note that you will need to adapt your own /etc/printcap file to use this script. However, it should work on any UNIX-like platform that has an lpr style printing subsystem.
Overall, I found pslj shell-script to be a reliable and flexible solution for printing Postscript files. Although I no longer use it for normal printing support, as I have since switched to cups for that purpose.
