Psychomancer is a game that combines elements of adventure and RPG, where players are taken on a text-based journey. With different options at every turn, players will move along a story arc infused with action, magic and psychic abilities.
The game introduces you to Myrlandria, an initiate wytch, who must escape from the Angwyn Cult temple. You are presented with four magical disciplines to choose from, including Sorcery, Elementalism, Psychomancy, and Spirit. Each discipline offers unique features and gameplay mechanics that impact the story's outcome. The game consists of puzzles, and solving each puzzle will lead to different solutions depending on which discipline you follow.
The current version of Psychomancer has undergone several updates and improvements, including the addition of Linux, Digital UNIX, Mac OS X, and Windows versions. The game is no longer case sensitive, features more text and descriptions, and has made spells viewable in any room. The save feature, however, is not yet fully functional and has been temporarily removed until version 1.1 is released.
The complexity and adventure of the game is highly engaging, taking you through a world with a rich backstory and immersive environment. Although the full version of the game has not been released yet, the beta version offers a full-fledged RPG experience with endless possibilities. Psychomancer is a must-play game for classic and modern RPG fans alike.
