Pybber is an all-in-one Jabber client that uses Python PyGnome, PyGlade, and pyjama frameworks. It features a user-friendly single window interface.
One thing that I appreciated about Pybber is that it doesn't rely on PyRECODE, thanks to Python 2.1. This allowed for greater flexibility in usage. A new tarball (and .deb package) of Pybber will be available using this version.
To check out Pybber for yourself, you can access the software directly from CVS using these lines of code:
$ cvs -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/pybber login
$ cvs -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/pybber checkout -Pd pybber
Just make sure you have the jpy module from the PyJaMa project first. At the password prompt, simply press "enter" to proceed.
Overall, Pybber shows a lot of promise for those looking for a dependable Jabber client written in Python.
