PyGnomon is a versatile calendrical calculation software that supports multiple calendar systems such as Gregorian and Julian. It simplifies timekeeping and offers flexibility to users seeking accurate calendar data.
The project is divided into two stages. Initially, the PyGnomon team focused on building classes and functions that are essential for defining calendars and using them in Python code. The Date class is the fundamental building block, and each calendar is implemented as a sub-class. To enable advanced astronomical calculations, the software provides additional functions.
Subsequently, the team set out to create a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) for PyGnomon, offering easy access to the software's functionalities. After careful consideration, the decision was made to remove the existing GUI, which was over four years old and did not reflect the current capabilities of the software. Instead, a new design was developed that better aligns with PyGnomon's features.
Overall, PyGnomon is a versatile and reliable calendrical calculation software with an intuitive interface, making it an ideal choice for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
