PyKDESystray enhances the capabilities of the PyWireless application in KDE by providing additional functionality.
To switch between wireless and brightness modes, you can use the left mouse button on the application icon. Compared to PyWireless, PyKDESystray includes additional functionalities such as remembering your last option, displaying package transfer rates in wireless mode, and a brightness monitor.
The original PyWireless application was modified by its developer, S.Çağlar Onur, to help him learn Python. To install PyKDESystray, type 'cp PyKDESystray.py /usr/bin' in a terminal window as the root user. Additionally, other files like images can be copied to '/usr/share'.
Upon installation, PyKDESystray can be accessed by typing './PyKDESystray.py' in a terminal as a normal user. Requirements for using this software include PyKDE, PyQt, and KDE.
This software has recently been updated with new features including CPU and memory monitoring, a selection menu accessible via right-clicking on the application icon, and popup messages that appear when changing between monitoring modes. All in all, PyKDESystray is a great utility for those looking for a reliable and customizable system monitoring tool.
