A better Python wrapper for the UnRAR.dll is available for free, providing enhanced functionality.
One of the notable features of pyUnRAR2 is that it has been modified to be a more simple, stable, and foolproof version of Jimmy Retzlaff's pyUnRAR. However, it's important to note that pyUnRAR2 has an incompatible interface from the original pyUnRAR.
With pyUnRAR2, you can take advantage of a low-level interface that's quite similar to the C interface you're probably familiar with when working with UnRAR. Additionally, there's a higher level interface that makes a variety of commonly-used operations easier to carry out.
All in all, if you're in need of a reliable and efficient tool for working with archives created with RAR/WinRAR archivers, pyUnRAR2 is an excellent choice.
