QDacco enables users to utilize the dictionary more interactively by offering a dynamic application.
The software configuration is a breeze. After launching QDacco for the first time, it prompts the user to set the default configuration. However, it is easy to modify the configuration later on via the menu 'Files -> Configure'. Simply indicate the directory which contains the subdirectories 'cateng' and 'engcat' under 'Dictionary directory.' The 'Default dictionary' option decides the primary translation preference (English to Catalan or vice versa), while 'Default language' relates to the language used within the software.
Using QDacco is straightforward; enter the word you are interested in within the 'search' box, then press either enter or the 'search' button found below. Should you require similar words to your search term, the magnifying glass button does just that. If your exact search term was not found, QDacco's automatic system looks for the closest matches. You can suggest new entries by clicking 'Suggest as a new entry' or leave feedback by pressing 'Send comment(s).' Active dictionary switching is possible by using either the buttons with the 'eng>cat' and 'cat>eng' labels, located above the search box, or by pressing 'Control+D.'
Two additional features of QDacco include 'Paste' and 'Copy.' The 'Paste' icon copies the contents of the clipboard automatically into the search box. On the other hand, 'Copy' copies both the search box contents and any found text to the clipboard.
Version 0.5 offers some new features such as the initial version of qdacco using TrayIcon. Also, it only allows one instance of use at a time to avoid Dbus communication issues when using TrayIcon mode.
QDacco offers users greater dictionary functionality and ease of use than ever before. Try it today for free and experience it yourself!
