Qemulator is an emulation suite that fully supports the qemu virtual engine. It has features such as on-demand job control and is coded in python GTK/Glade.
The software is still under development with the current version stable and running on most Linux machines, delivering almost all the functions of QEMU. However, some work still needs to be done. Note that the software requires GTK+ version 2.8.x, Qemu = 0.8.1 / 0.8.2, Python = 2.4.x, Pygtk2 = 2.8.x, and libglade2 = 2.5.x. The optional Python-Gnome-extras enhances the tray functionality, and if not installed, the icon and related enhancements will be disabled.
The new release focusses on a more simple and clear context with changed filesystem and boot logic. Many new QEMU options have been added to the GUI, and several functions are enhanced by image autodetection. Additionally, there are now guided dialogs to add new machines and install systems. Creating new images now includes all common qemu-img options, and VM configuration can be exported as a shell script. Finally, several bugs have been fixed, with new translations in Catalan and Slovenian. For a complete list of changes, please refer to the project home or the release notes distributed with the package.
Overall, Qemulator is an impressive software that brings a broad range of features while being easy to use. Highly recommended for anyone managing images and devices on Linux machines.
