QPBPManager is a Linux software designed to manage PBP files efficiently.
This tool enables users to automate the process and eliminate the need for manual execution, making it a simple task for the end-user. All the user needs to do is select a PBP file and the PSP directory, and QPBPManager takes care of the rest. It also provides users with other cool features such as selecting custom PNG, PMF, and AT3 files to use as an icon or background in the PSP menu.
One of the significant advantages of QPBPManager is that it allows users to backup the savegames to the computer and copy those savegames later to the PSP. To this end, the software has a range of useful features that make managing PBP files a breeze.
Unpacking PBP files and selecting the icon and background files from the source file is now a lot easier. The software extracts the program name included in the PBP file and sets it as the default output directory. It also extracts the ELF of the PBP file and packs a fake PBP file without the ELF for showing in the menu of the PSP.
One of the other features of QPBPManager is that it allows the user to select custom icon and background files to use in the menu. It also enables users to choose custom video and music files to use in the menu. The software also allows the user to select the output directory on the PSP and the actual PSP directory, which is saved as an option for further usages. So, you only have to configure it once (as long as the PSP directory does not change).
Finally, the software provides support for backup the savegames on the PSP to the computer and vice versa. Although QPBPManager was designed mainly to transfer PBP files into the PSP so they can be executed through the memory stick menu, the developers are continually working on new features in future versions unrelated to PBP file management.
Some of the features planned for future versions include the ability to convert and transfer any kind of video file. This feature will enable users to convert all kinds of video files into the PSP format and transfer the files to the PSP to allow viewing them on the console. Additionally, the tool will allow the conversion and transferring of any kind of audio file. It will help convert all types of audio files into the PSP format (mp3) and transfer the files to the PSP to allow hearing them on the console.
