QSynaptics configures Synaptics touch pad driver using the Qt-based utility.
QSynaptics boasts several key features, including pressure sensitivity adjustment, tapping delay customization, and disengageable tapping. Additionally, it offers smart tapping capabilities, which briefly disables the touchpad after a keyboard event has occurred. Further, mouse button emulation is possible, allowing users to map multifinger taps to a specific mouse button. Finally, circular scrolling can be configured by enabling or disabling it, adjusting the speed, and configuring sensitive edges/corners.
To use QSynaptics, you will need a mobile computer with a compatible touchpad, and the X11 synaptics driver must be installed. Qt Designer 3.2 and Qt 3.2 are required to compile the product. Although the developer has only tested the product on Linux, it might be portable to BSD.
The software can be compiled by simply running qmake and make commands. In case you don't want to compile on your own, you can get the tarballs with a pre-compiled binary that should run under your preferred distribution without any issue. With QSynaptics, configuring your Synaptics touchpad and increasing its efficiency is easier than ever before.
