QTSketch is a movie player software that allows you to draw on the movie directly. It is powered by Quicktime.
One of the things that sets QTSketch apart from other video players is the ease with which it opens files. This application can open Quicktime and MPEG4 movie files (.mov and .mp4), Single Images, and Image Sequences of any Quicktime supported Image format, including JPEG, PNG, and TIFF. What's more, QTSketch can also open Movie Sequences, which is an exceptional feature that not many video players have.
An excellent addition to QTSketch is the media browser that makes finding files you want to open much easier. Whether the file is on your local hard drive or on a customized file server, QTSketch has got you covered.
The only downside of the application is its known issues, but these do not affect the playback of the video. These known issues include drop-frame timecodes, sketching on an image or sequence, opening an image sequence have issues with negative frame numbers rendered using the new RMS, and sketching artifacts on PPC machines. However, the next release will have these bugs fixed.
To run QTSketch, you need to have a CoreVideo supported graphics card and Quicktime 7.2 or later. Milestone 9 is considered to be the last beta release before the release of 1.0.
All in all, QTSketch is an excellent video player that streams videos seamlessly and makes drawing over a QuickTime movie very easy. Highly recommended!
