Radial is a loop-based performance tool with a stunning and exclusive user interface.
RadiaL is loop-based, and each loop channel is represented by a circular display. Each channel has its own performable multi-filter and pitch-shifting/time-scaling. Almost all aspects of the system can be tailored towards live performance, studio recording or sound exploration, controllable from a diverse range of sources including control surfaces, MIDI, keyboard or mouse.
Key features of Radial include the Master Control, which allows for dynamically setting the number of Loop channels, effects processors and virtual outputs, and interchanging loops and DSP effects on the fly. It also enables direct to disk recording during performance with sample-accurate playback, sync and master BPM control with tap tempo and external sync support.
Radial also offers a range of Loop Channel features such as sample-accurate adjustable playback speed for each loop channel, individual tuning controls for pitch correction, transposition, or extreme granulation effects, unique "gauge" Radial Loop display with sweep and position controls, and a Linear Channel inspector for low-level control.
Channel Filters include the ability to create the filter you want by shaping the frequency response directly, with high and low-pass filters always enabled at each end. As many peak and notch EQ nodes can be dynamically created as needed.
Flexible Bus Send Routing independent main, and monitor controls let you preview channels during performance. Additional Virtual Outputs can be routed freely to physical audio outputs, with support for up to 512 channels. Matrix audio routing allows effects and busses to feed back into Loop channel inputs and sends, allowing arbitrarily complex audio chains, with built-in saturation control and a limiter.
Other benefits of Radial are that it has a System Monitor that displays CPU and memory availability, it includes thirteen carefully selected pluggo plug-ins, plus the new tempo-synchronized filter/delay plug-in dlaye. VST plug-in support with unprecedented routing, and a Channel Inspector that provides low-level control over playback quantization, loop slicing, and continuous control all the way to granular synthesis and back again. There is also a Matrix Mixer that facilitates effects outputs, which can be mixed to any output or effect, including itself, layering, chaining, and complex systems with automatic feedback suppression.
Radial is also compatible with external MIDI control, allowing for easy setup with MIDI controllers, configurable computer keyboards and mice as controllers, and support for any InputSprockets-compatible device.
The software makes loop handling incredibly easy, with a file browser window categorizing loops for rapid access during performance, compatibility with AIFF, WAV, MP3 and all QuickTime importable files, plus an exclusive Radial loop collection available to all Radial owners.
The only limitation is that there is a 30-day trial period for users to test it out. Overall, RadiaL is an incredible software for live performances and real-time composition and sound design.
