RadialNet offers a tool to visualize networks effectively.
To launch the RadialNet application, you simply execute the command "./radialnet.py". The software displays the RadialNet application from an Nmap XML file, which must have traceroute information. In case you don't have this information, you can refer to the "man nmap". If you encounter any issues while using RadialNet, you can send suggestions or bug reports to ignotus21_at_gmail_dot_com. You need to input Nmap XML file as an argument, and the share/sample folder has some Nmap XML examples that you can run radialnet.py with.
Visualizing networks with RadialNet provides a wide range of information that may sometimes be unnecessary, making visualization heavier. To solve this problem, you can hide some of the information to make the visualization less heavy. The color and sizes of the network nodes are essential indicators of their problems' severity. For instance, the colors correspond to the number of open ports on the networks, while white nodes with small sizes indicate no information available about the device.
RadialNet uses squares to represent devices such as routers, switches, and wireless access points, making it easier to distinguish them. Icons display useful information on hosts. They indicate if the host has filtered, wired or wireless access points. Additionally, pop-up windows display the node's information like ports, operating system, security report, among others. RadialNet's animation feature allows you to change the animation's center, method of interpolation -polar or Cartesian-, and frames.
Two options for node placement are available - symmetric and weighted - which affects the view of the network hierarchy. To group nodes, explore the "Group node" option found in the top toolbar. Lastly, the fisheye mechanism is available for enhancing the visualization quality of specific regions of maps.
In conclusion, the latest RadialNet release fixes several bugs to improve Windows support. RadialNet is ideal for network visualization, allowing you to map and display crucial information about networks effectively.
