Ramrip is a script that bundles mplayer and ffmpeg for simplified use.
It is worth noting that due to the RAMrip's process of downloading uncompressed videos, a substantial amount of free disk space is necessary since un-compressed videos are massive files. For the time being, the software does not have a manual page, though one can run the program with a -h option to see the following help:
Usage: ramrip [options] [basename]
Options:
- h: This cruft
- v: Print name and version
- V: Verbose mode
- d: Dirty mode (don't delete intermediate files)
- a: Audio format (ogg [default], mp3, wav)
- f: Video format (mpeg [default])
As exemplified, one can run the software using the following options:
$ ramrip -f mpeg wiggle Downloads
$ ramrip Downloads
$ ramrip -a mp3 Downloads
$ ramrip -a wav Downloads
This flexibility comes in handy by allowing users to tailor their experience according to their needs.
