RenameIt standardizes MP3 file names.
To use Renamelt, you can execute a few commands. For instance, if you want to add tags to a file before renaming it, you can use the "./addtag FileToBeTagged.mp3"command. It prompts you for the artist and track name, adds the tag to the file, and moves the file up to the mp3s directory, where you can run renameit on it.
If you want to standardize the filenames of all the MP3s in a directory, you can use the "./batchrenameit" command. Renamelt will automatically get all the mp3 filenames in the top directory and call renameit for each of them. This way, you can quickly rename all your MP3s with a few clicks.
The "./edittag FileToBeEdited.mp3" command is useful if you want to display the current ID3 tag and make necessary changes. After editing, the renamed MP3 file will go through renameit.
If you want to tag a large number of MP3 files quickly, you should try the "./batchtag" command. This mass file tagger scans all MP3 filenames in the need_id3 directory and calls addtag for each of them.
The "./batchtagedit" command is perfect if you need to adjust things like bands named Perl Jam, as it gets all the MP3 filenames in this directory tree and calls edittag for each file.
Finally, you can make index.html files for all MP3s in a directory tree by running the "./makeindexfile" command. The index file will only show the MP3s. Renamelt makes renaming your MP3s a breeze by removing the complexity of the process.
