Rest2web automates the upkeep of websites or specific sections of webpages. It simplifies the process of maintaining internet content, freeing up time and resources for other areas of a business.
In addition to making it easy to add pages, removing pages from your website is also simple with rest2web. Removing a page only requires deleting a single file, and rest2web will automatically rebuild the indexes. rest2web offers standard functions for building a sidebar with links to other pages in your directory or other sections on your website.
One of the standout features of rest2web is its ability to restyle a website effortlessly by changing template files. Generally, only a few template files are necessary for most websites. By using templates and user values, it is easy to create multiple versions of a website in different languages. Simply create the framework once with your user values as placemarkers, and then create your files with different translations. rest2web can handle building the website and linking the sites together.
In the new release of rest2web, some extra debugging information has been added to syntax errors in the templates. odict and pathutils have been fixed to ensure Python 2.5 compatibility. The 'promote_headers' option has been added to the config file, and the sortpages method has been added to the sections. This sorts the pages in a section (or all sections) alphabetically. Additionally, a custom sort function can be passed in. Overall, rest2web is a powerful tool for creating and managing websites with ease.
