RRDBot is a software that polls SNMP and records the collected data in an RRD database. It is a daemon and streamlines the process of managing and storing SNMP data.
The project also offers tools that help to simplify the creation of RRD files and the various archives contained in them. RRDBot requires RRDtool to function seamlessly.
The latest release of RRDBot comes with several new features and bug fixes. Primarily, an assertion bug that was encountered when reallocating SNMP request memory has been fixed. Another bug with the asynchronous resolver that occurred when daemonizing has also been fixed.
Moreover, SNMP version 2c support is now added to rrdbot-get. The issues with asynchronous resolving on FreeBSD have also been resolved. A bug that ignored the '-c' argument in rrdbot-create has been fixed, and the PID file is now removed during exit. Lastly, issues with config files that are not enumerated on ReiserFS have been resolved.
RRDBot is an excellent software that delivers optimal results and works flawlessly in managing SNMP polling with the least amount of external dependency.
