RRTOOLS is a software that acts as a recipe authoring tool and a digital cookbook. It allows authors to create and edit recipes with ease.
The structure of RRTOOLS is built upon a sophisticated XML based recipe format and uses separate and uniquely identifiable steps. These steps can be grouped into components, which can easily be replaced. RRTOOLS also allows for unlimited media per step, enabling users to incorporate all types of media.
Preparing multiple recipes has never been easier with the RRTOOLS app. Steps can be checked off as completed, and the app provides an overview of what has been done. Multiple timers with visual and audible alarms are also available to help manage the cooking process efficiently.
End-users can take advantage of many features and advantages, including recipe caching/mirroring, recipe bookmarks, and the ability to create and email a shopping list. Additionally, authors have full control over their content and are not dependent on hosting their recipes with big portals.
The app requires a web server with PHP5 (with SOAP and gd) support and mod_rewrite. It is best used with Firefox, although other browsers are supported, with JavaScript enabled and UTF-8 support.
Installation is a breeze, and users can download the release they want from the Origo website. They should then unzip the archive and copy the contents to their webserver, noting the physical path and URI to the directory on the server where RRTOOLS resides. Users should also note the path and URI to the content folder, which can be outside the RRTOOLS directory.
To set up RRTOOLS, users must register an account and their site. Finally, they should edit the .htaccess and rrconfig.php files before registering their site.
Overall, RRTOOLS is a must-have software for anyone who loves to cook and wants to take their recipes to the next level.
